Joey Diamond scored two goals for the Black Bears, but his penalty late in the third period helped UNH even the score. With the result of the game, Maine will be the 8th seed in the Hockey East playoffs. New Hampshire is tied for first place for the time being with UMass-Lowell and Providence. However, those two teams square off shortly meaning that one or both will end up with more points than UNH by the end of the night.
