Northeastern vs. Boston University score update: Terriers lead 2-1 after one period at Matthews

In the only meeting of the season between Boston University and Northeastern at Matthews Arena, the visiting and No. 19-ranked Terriers took a 2-1 lead into the first intermission - their first at the end of any period against the Huskies this season.

BOSTON -- In the only meeting of the season between Boston University and Northeastern at Matthews Arena, the visiting and No. 19-ranked Terriers took a 2-1 lead into the first intermission - their first at the end of any period against the Huskies this season.

BU held an overwhelming edge in total chances through the stanza with a 18-12 shots edge.

The Terriers jumped atop the scoreboard at the 12:19 mark of the period as senior Jake Moscatel, a Lexington, Mass. native and transfer from D-III University of New England, pounced on a juicy rebound left out by NU senior netminder Chris Rawlings.

Finnish freshman Ahti Oksanen took a rocket of a shot that bounced out to Rawlings' left for the backhand rebound by Moscatel - the first point of his collegiate career.

Rawlings would certainly like to have his second surrendered goal of the night back as BU senior captain Wade Megan snuck a wrister from the wing under his five-hole with 3:05 left.

The Huskies were able to crack the scoreboard with just 1.2 seconds remaining as junior Cody Ferriero beat BU's Matt O'Connor over his shoulder to cap off a 2-on-1 play for his 12th goal of the season.
