UMass-Lowell became the first team outside of Boston College, Boston University, Maine and New Hampshire to win the Hockey East Regular Season Championship. Boston College, Boston University, Providence, New Hampshire and Merrimack round out 2-6.

Thanks to an 11-2 shots advantage in the first period, the No. 19 Boston University Terriers jumped ahead of their rival Northeastern Huskies, 1-0, after 20 minutes at Agganis Arena. Danny O'Regan scored his 14th goal of the season.

UNH, Maine tie 4-4
With UNH's 4-4 tie with Maine, the Wildcats can no longer finish in first place. By virtue of the tie, Maine is locked into the 8th seed. The Black Bears are currently tied for 7th with UVM, but the Catamounts own the tie-breaker.

Hockey East Playoff update
UMass was eliminated from the playoffs last night as the Minutemen fell in overtime at Merrimack. Maine had already upset UNH meaning the Black Bears clinched a spot with the UMass loss. UMass-Lowell remains the only the team to clinch home ice.
