Bigos, Silk suspended by Hockey East

Kyle Bigos and Brendan Silk were both suspended one game by Hockey East.

Wednesday morning, Hockey East announced the suspensions of Merrimack College senior defenseman Kyle Bigos and Boston College freshman forward Brendan Silk.

Bigos will be forced to miss Merrimack's senior night game against UMass-Amherst Friday night after picking up his third game misconduct. Bigos appeared to throw a punch at a UMass-Lowell player towards the end of the game as the teams came together at the final whistle. The Upland, California native and Edmonton Oilers' draft pick is the Hockey East career leader in penalty minutes.

Silk was also suspended just one game for an illegal hit to the head last weekend against Providence. The Wakefield, Massachusetts native has appeared in 31 of 32 games for the Eagles this season. He will be eligible to return on Saturday night.

This weekend will be the final two regular season games of the year for each Hockey East team before the league playoffs start next weekend.
