Quinnipiac appears destined for the program's first Frozen Four appearance as the Bobcats lead Union 5-0 after two periods in the East Regional Final.
Matthew Peca recorded a natural hat trick in the first period to give Rand Pecknold's team a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes. The Tampa Bay Lightning prospect tallied the fasted hat trick in NCAA Tournament history.
Jordan Samuels-Thomas tipped in a pass from the left boards on the power play at the 7:22 mark of the second to give QU a 4-0 lead. The power play was a result of a five-minute major to Union's Matt Wilkins.
Kellen Jones would extend the Bobcats lead to five when he roofed a backhand shot at the 11:42 mark. Peca would be credited with the primary assist.
