Trevor van Riemsdyk and Dalton Speelman connected on separate power play tallies to give New Hampshire a 3-2 lead after two periods in the second semifinal of the Northeast Regional.
van Riemsdyk scored on a wrist shot from the point at 14:34 for the equalizer. Eric Knodel and Grayson Downing were credited with the helpers. UNH is 5-0-2 on the season when van Riemsdyk pots a goal.
With just 42 seconds left in the period and on another power play, Speelman gave the Wildcats the lead and plenty of momentum heading into the final period. He was parked just to the right of the net when he one-timed the puck off a rebound right past DU goaltender Juho Olkinuora.
Senior John Henrion has eight shots on goal to lead the Wildcats. Fellow classmate Austin Block has five. Nick Shore's four shots on goal is the most for the Pioneers. UNH is outshooting DU 30-26 on the game.
