UMass-Amherst junior defenseman Conor Allen has signed an entry-level contract with the New York Rangers. There were rumors swirling all week around the imminent departure of the Chicago, Ill. native.
Allen had a plus/minus rating of -1 this season for the Minutemen. The former Sioux Falls Stampede (USHL) blue liner tallied 5 goals and 14 assists for John Micheletto's team. He'll forego his final season of eligibility with the Minutemen.
Allen will report to the Connecticut Whale (AHL) on an amateur tryout agreement for the rest of this season. He'll be in camp with the Rangers in the fall.
