Quinnipiac shuts out Yale 3-0 in ECAC Consolation game

Quinnipiac defeated Yale 3-0 in the ECAC Consolation game. The Bobcats will await their fate as to which venue they are sent to for the NCAA Regionals that begin next weekend.

A night after being shut out by Brown, Quinnipiac bounced back with a 3-0 win over Yale in the ECAC Consolation game. Bryce Van Brabant, Cory Hibbeler and Kevin Bui scored for the Bobcats. Hobey Baker Award finalist Eric Hartzell recorded the shutout making 30 saves.

The Bobcats will almost certainly be a number one seed. Rand Pecknold's team will be the number one seed in Providence if Union beats Brown in the ECAC Finals. QU will be sent to Manchester if Brown wins the game. A win for the Bears would give them the ECAC's automatic bid. Brown is hosting the Providence Regional and would be in that region automatically as the four seed.

The loss means Yale falls to 13th in the Pairwise Rankings for the time being. Other results could move the Bulldogs up or down, but Keith Allain's team is now extremely close to the bubble.
