Chris Fitzgerald, St. Lawrence beat writer for the Watertown Daily Times, reported via Twitter this evening(@cfitzwdt), that St. Lawrence senior captain Kyle Flanagan underwent surgery to have his addendix removed on Tuesday. He went on to report that St. Lawrence head coach Greg Carvel said, "surgery was successful with no problems or complications".
Flanagan is in the midst of an outstanding final season of college hockey. He's scored 14 goals and 28 assists for 42 points in 31 games for the Saints this year, which puts him into a tie for fifth nationally in scoring. Flanagan played in both of St. Lawrence's games last weekend, scoring two points in a win on Friday night, while not factoring in the scoring in a Saturday evening loss.
St. Lawrence closes out their regular season with two huge conference games this Friday and Saturday. The Saints currently sit in third place in the ECAC, just one point out of second place, and nationally, the Saints are right on the NCAA tournament bubble, sitting at 17th in the Pairwise, and playing PWR #21 Union and PWR #16 Rensselaer this weekend.
