The Lineup: Vermont at Northeastern (Friday)

Northeastern and Vermont meet in a key Hockey East series this weekend at Matthews Arena. Entering Friday's opener, the Huskies and Catamounts are separated by just three points in the bottom half of the league standings.

BOSTON -- Good evening from Matthews Arena on the campus of Northeastern University for the start of a key mid-February Hockey East series between the Northeastern Huskies (8-14-3, 4-11-3 HE) and the Vermont Catamounts (8-14-4, 5-10-4 HE).

UVM leads the season series as it captured the first meeting between the squads on Nov. 18, 2012, 3-2. Stellar Husky rookie Kevin Roy scored twice in the third period, but it was not enough to help the visitors.

Roy is currently second in all of Division I college hockey with 4.56 shots per-game and leads all freshmen with 1.28 goals per-game. The Quebec native scored five goals over two games in the Beanpot Tournament over the first two Mondays, becoming the first Most Valuable Player from the second-place team since 2004.

In that November game, UVM's Brody Hoffman made 33 saves and remains the only rookie in the nation to have started every game between the pipes for his team.
