Beanpot 2013: Eagles, Huskies scoreless after 1 period

Boston College and Northeastern are scoreless after 20 minutes in the Beanpot Final.

Boston College and Northeastern are scoreless after one period of play in the Beanpot championship game. The heavily-favored Eagles held the territorial advantage, outshooting the Huskies 10-5 in the first stanza.

Northeastern successfully killed off three penalties in the period which is sure to draw the ire of head coach Jim Madigan during the intermission. If the Huskies are going to have a chance in this game, they must stay more disciplined.

BC's first week hero Quinn Smith had two shots on goal from in close in the period. His line accounted for half the Eagles shots on goal in the period.

The first line for the Huskies, led by freshman Kevin Roy and senior Vinny Saponari, created the majority of the team's chances in the first frame.
