It's been a long time since the Colorado College Tigers have been able to watch the final seconds of the clock tick away with a good feeling hovering around the bench.

As a matter of fact, the Tigers haven't earned a solid win since their NCHC opener against Minnesota Duluth where they beat the Bulldogs in a 3-1 Friday night skirmish.

To be honest, this wasn't the game I would have expected the Tigers to win, either.

The Mavericks have been on an absolute tear as of lately.  Dean Blais and the UNO red Mavericks had won six of their last eight battles coming into Friday night's game in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  Add that to the impress sweep over the Miami Redhawks last weekend and you'll whip up a recipe that shows no sign of a Colorado College victory.

But this is college hockey.  And this is why we love this game.

Alexander Krushelnyski got the party started for the Tigers midway through the first, UNO's Ian Brady would respond before the first period ended.  Both first period tallies were the result of man-advantages.

Jared Hanson came out and scored in the second, followed by the eventual game winner from Sam Rothstein eight minutes later in the second period.

Nebraska Omaha's Zahn Raubenheimer scored in the third period to pull the game within one, but CC's Jeff Collett sealed the deal with an assist from Minnesota Wild prospect Gustav Olofsson just six minutes later.
