Michigan freshman goalie Zach Nagelvoort once again is honored by the Big Ten as another streak ends.

Minnesota forward Sam Warning's reign as one of the Big Ten 3 Stars each of the first three weeks predictably ended due to the Gophers being idle last weekend. In his place for the week of October 29-November 3 is a pair of Badgers in Tyler Barnes and Joe Faust - the first two Wisconsin players named Three Stars - sandwiched around Nagelvoort.

The Big Ten began sponsoring hockey in 2013-14. In lieu of naming a player of the week, the conference is instead naming three stars.

Barnes, a senior forward, was named First Star after he recorded four points (2 G - 2 A) in two games last weekend against Lake Superior State. The Eagan, MN native's goals were timely. Barnes scored both in the third period of Friday's game, including the game-tying goal with 1:22 remaining, as the Badgers came back from a 3-0 deficit to tie. Wisconsin then went on to beat the previously unbeaten Lakers 8-1 on Saturday,

Nagelvoort was named the Second Star this week. The Holland, MI native saved 56 of 59 shots in a two-game sweep for the Wolverines over Michigan Tech.

It's the second consecutive week Nagelvoort was honored by the Big Ten. Last week the freshman forward was the Big Ten Third Star for his performance against Boston University and UMass-Lowell. Nagelvoort, who has started Michigan's last 5 games, currently leads the NCAA with a .948 save percentage (goalies who have played more than 2 games).

Faust, this week's Third Star, is the first-ever defenseman to be named as one of the Three Stars. A 2010 4th round pick by the New Jersey Devils, Faust tallied four assists for Wisconsin this weekend. That includes three in Saturday's win, which was the first multi-point game for the senior. He now has 6 assists in 6 games.

Both Wisconsin and Michigan are off next weekend before traveling November 15-16 to Miami and Nebraska-Omaha, respectively.

Last weekend was a good one for the Big Ten. The five schools playing went a combined 8-1-1.
