Gophers Hockey: Seth Ambroz scores game winner (VIDEO)

26 seconds was the difference between Ambroz's fourth goal in a weekend sweep and Minnesota & Wisconsin heading to overtime.

Minnesota junior Seth Ambroz had one productive weekend against Wisconsin.

The 6'3", 215 lbs forward scored four goals in two games against the Badgers, including the game winner Saturday with 26 seconds left.

"(Ambroz) is just an honest, hard working guy," Minnesota He's going to score some goals by getting them around the net in the blue paint. He's not pretty coming down the rink, but he's heavy on pucks. He scored like we expected him this weekend."

The goal can be seen above. After Wisconsin forward Michael Mersch (Los Angeles Kings draft pick) turned the puck over to Travis Boyd (Washington Capitals), Ambroz (Columbus Blue Jackets) put the rebound past Badgers goalie Joel Rumpel

It was a big win for Minnesota, who entered the weekend trying to hold off St. Cloud State and Providence as the #1 team in college hockey. The Huskies were idle while PC tied 3-3 with #5 Quinnipiac Wednesday.

More importantly, Ambroz's goal gave the Gophers three points in Big Ten conference play.

"This was a big win for us to see where our young guys were as a whole," he said after the game. "Coming into a 2-2 game into the third, going up and then just being able to battle...for us it was to see how our young guys would reply - and our veterans as well - and do what we could."
