Burlington, Vermont -- All three of Chris Muscoby's collegiate points have come against the University of Maine, including the game-winning goal in Friday's 3-2 victory for the Catamounts at the Gutterson Field House. The Airdrie, Alberta native assisted on the game-tying goal and tallied the game-winning goal with 2:49 to play in regulation to give the host Catamounts their second consecutive victory over the Black Bears. He scored a goal against Maine earlier this month in a 4-3 win at Alfond Arena in Orono.

Michael Paliotta and Jake Fallon were the other goal scorers for Vermont (6-5-1). UVM Sophomore Brody Hoffman stopped 32 of the 34 shots he faced as the Black Bears outshot the Catamounts 34-24. Kevin Sneddon's team has now won three in a row, the longest winning streak since February of last season.

Devin Shore and Steven Swavely scored for the Black Bears (6-5-1) who are 0-4-1 on the road this season. Shore, a Dallas Stars prospect, has a three-game point streak and has registered at least one point in six of the last seven. Senior goaltender Martin Ouellette was not as sharp as he has been for much of the season. The Columbus Blue Jackets prospect allowed three goals on 24 shots.

The two teams will face off again Saturday night for the fourth and final regular season meeting. The first two games in Orono counted towards the Hockey East standings while the two games in Burlington will go in the books as nonconference games. Hockey East teams were left to fill a void in their schedules with the addition of Notre Dame to the conference. Last season each Hockey East team played 27 league games, but there will only be 20 this season.
