Durham, NH -- Welcome inside the Whittemore Center for tonight's nonconference matchup between the Brown Bears from the ECAC and the home-standing New Hampshire Wildcats of Hockey East. New Hampshire is 20-14-2 all-time against Brown, but the Bears won the last game between the two teams, 5-2, on December 30, 2011.
Brown's offense is paced by forwards Matt Lorito, Mark Naclerio and Nick Lappin. Defenseman Dennis Robertson, a Toronto Maple Leafs prospect, is a strong two-way blue liner. Senior Marco De Filippo will start in net for Brendan Whittet's team.
New Hampshire is off to an uncharacteristically slow start, but the Wildcats are coming off their best weekend yet. UNH swept UMass, 4-1 and 9-0 to even its Hockey East record and snap a six game winless streak overall. Defensemen Eric Knodel and Trevor van Riemsdyk are two very productive defensemen, but Justin Agosta had a very good weekend against the Minutemen. Grayson Downing has been playing banged up, but had a hat trick on Saturday at UMass. Jeff Wyer will start in net for Dick Umile's Wildcats.
