1. Minnesota 4-0-0 (48)

The Gophers are coming off a sweep at Bemidji State, but have also had impressive wins against New Hampshire and Mercyhurst in order to earn their position in the number one spot. This weekend, the Gophers will be tested once again, hosting Boston College at home.

2. Notre Dame 4-0-0 (46)

With two non-conference sweeps against Western Michigan and Michigan Tech under their belt, the Fighting Irish have established their dominance early in the season. Notre Dame will trek to Minnesota Duluth this weekend to try and keep their perfect record against the Bulldogs.

3. Michigan 3-0-1 (37)

After losing to Waterloo (Ontario) to begin their season (exhibition), Michigan has been determined to show the rest of the league what they're made of. The Wolverines recently finished a close series with New Hampshire, tying 1-1 on Friday and earning the "W" on Saturday with a 3-2 overtime score. This weekend, Michigan hosts Hockey East's Boston University on Friday and UMass-Lowell on Saturday.

4. Boston College 2-1-0 (36)

Last weekend, the Boston College Eagles gave Wisconsin a good ole' butt woopin', defeating the Badgers 9-2. This weekend will be a true test for the Eagles as they head west to battle the Minnesota Gophers, which should be one of the better weekend series.

5. Miami 3-1-0 (33)

After falling to North Dakota on Friday night, the Redhawks came back even stronger on Saturday night with Ryan McKay in net, defeating UND, 6-2. This weekend won't be any easier for Miami as they head to Providence for a non-conference battle.

6. North Dakota 2-1-1 (23)

North Dakota outplayed Miami on Friday night, but fell to the Redhawks on Saturday for a series split. Unfortunately for North Dakota fans, they won't have any conference action, but they do host the US Under-18 Team in an exhibition match. After that, they host St. Cloud State.

7. Providence 3-0-0 (20)

Providence started the season with an impressive home sweep over preseason WCHA front-runner, Minnesota State 5-1 and 3-0. Last weekend they defeated American International 10-4 in a single game. The Friars host the Miami Redhawks in a non-conference skirmish this weekend.

8. Yale 0-0-0 (12)

Yale has yet to play a game this year, but the reigning national champions have every right to be considered a top-notch team until proven otherwise. Yale will take part in the Liberty Invitational this weekend, squaring off against Brown and then either Dartmouth or Princeton.

9. Quinnipiac 3-1-0 (8)

Quinnipiac hosts Bentley tonight followed by a home-and-home series against Holy Cross this weekend. The Bobcats swept Umass-Lowell last weekend in another home-and-home series. Their only loss comes from Alaska-Anchorage during the Kendall Hockey Classic.

10. New Hampshire 1-2-1 (5)

The Wildcats may not sport the greatest record, but they've played some of the toughest teams college hockey has to offer thus far. Last weekend, New Hampshire competed with Michigan, earning a tie the first night, but falling in overtime in the second game. This weekend, the Wildcats will head to Rensselaer for a single-game encounter.

Friendship Awards

Lake Superior (4 points), St. Cloud State (2 points), RPI (1 points)
