Ice Breaker Final: Minnesota defeats Mercyhurst 6-0

Minnesota scored three goals in the second period to break open a close game. The Gophers face New Hampshire for the Ice Breaker Tournament championship after the Wildcats defeated Clarkson 4-1 earlier today.

Minnesota scored three goals in the second period en route to a 6-0 victory over Mercyhurst. That includes Justin Kloos' first collegiate goal, which saw the freshman shoot a pass from Nate Condon past Lakers goalie Jordan Tibbett on the power play to make it 4-0 Gophers.

Kyle Rau, Seth Ambroz, Sam Warning, Mike Reilly and Michael Brodzinski also scored for #5 Minnesota (1-0-0). Sophomore Adam Wilcox made 24 saves for his fourth career .

The Gophers face New Hampshire for the Ice Breaker Tournament championship tomorrow night (October 12) at 7:00 p.m. CT. Mercyhurst (0-1-0) and Clarkson meet prior to that at 4:00 p.m. for the consolation game.
