The Merrimack Warriors pulled off a very crucial season series victory in Hockey East on Saturday night, using a hot hand in goal en route to an impressive 4-1 win over the No. 3/4 New Hampshire Wildcats at Whittemore Center Arena.

In the final game before Monday's Beanpot, BC jumped back onto the winning track, while BU and Northeastern fell again. Merrimack was a home victor by a close margin, breaking UMass-Lowell's great 11-game unbeaten streak.

Sophomore Casey DeSmith made a season-high 47 saves as New Hampshire won on the road at Northeastern on Friday, 3-1. The Wildcats return to Whittemore Center on Saturday to face Merrimack in Hockey East's only game.
