Teammates Glover and Collins Commit to Minnesota

Jack Glover and Ryan Collins committed to Minnesota.

The Minneapolis Star-Tribune's Michael Russo is reporting that NTDP defensemen Jack Glover and Ryan Collins have both committed to play their college hockey for the University of Minnesota.

Glover and Collins were teammates as sophomores last season on Benilde-St. Margaret's state championship winning team, before both accepted offers to play for the NTDP U17 team this year.

Both are tall, lanky defensemen that skate well for their size. At this point in their careers, Glover is by far the more polished prospect, but Collins also has the tools to be a special player, and both seem to be off to decent starts in Ann Arbor.

Here's what I had to say about both at this spring's Minnesota Select 54 tournament:

Glover has really emerged as the star of this group. He has all the tools to be a very high NHL draft pick some day. Some people were curious about why the NTDP was so interested in Ryan Collins after an uneven high school season. He's got loads of potential, and with two years of great coaching/development, he could turn into something special.
