It's been rumored for weeks that North Dakota would be losing some players to transfer over the summer.
I've received confirmation that Mike Cichy has officially transferred to Western Michigan, where he'll sit out a year and then have two years of eligibility left. Cichy played in 25 games for North Dakota last year, where he tallied three goals and four assists. The transfer to Western Michigan will reunite him with his former USHL coach Jeff Blashill, who helped coach Cichy through an extremely successful half year of junior hockey.
There have also been very strong rumors that forward Brett Bruneteau will be leaving North Dakota to transfer to Vermont, where his younger brother plays. Bruneteau has struggled with his health throughout his career. Bruneteau played in just four games last season and didn't register a point.
