I talked last week about how there wouldn't be room for every player with a college commitment, and that was the case.

It looks like three players that played in the USHL last year--Adam Erne, Anthony DeAngelo, and Ian McCoshen--won't be trying out. There's really no right route, since how one plays is more important than where they play, but I've always felt what the NTDP offers is pretty hard to pass up, and as I noted a couple weeks ago on Twitter, it's interesting to note that among the '93 age group, there were a number of players that were convinced they were "too good" for the NTDP, that have since been passed in the draft rankings by the likes of Tyler Biggs, Rocco Grimaldi, and JT Miller.

There's a lot of speculation on players receiving early offers and potentially accepting, but I won't speculate on that. I haven't seen enough to make anything in the way of predictions on who I think will make the team. But I have seen enough of a few of these guys to say that regardless of who is picked, it should end up being a pretty strong and competitive group.
