Commitment Round-Up

Waterloo defenseman Eddie Wittchow committed to Wisconsin. Wittchow had turned down an offer to skate for the Badgers this season, thinking he wasn't quite ready for college hockey yet, which was a pretty mature decision to make.

Defenseman Matt Joyaux of Team Illinois committed to Miami. Joyaux became the eighth player off of the '09-'10 Chicago Mission Midget Minor team to make a college commitment, joining Sam Piazza(Boston College), Ryan Hartman(Miami), Justin Wade(Notre Dame), Vince Hinostroza(Notre Dame), Tom DiPauli(Notre Dame), Ray Pigozzi(Denver), and Austin Farley(Minnesota-Duluth)

St. Cloud added two forwards from Chicago playing in the USHL who combined, probably don't add up to 11-feet tall in Ryan Papa and Jimmy Murray.

Bemidji picked up a commitment from Aberdeen(NAHL) forward Cory Ward. I still think Ward is a huge sleeper based on what he's quietly doing in the NAHL this year, and may be a big steal for Bemidji.

Michigan State picked up a commitment from Detroit Catholic Central defenseman Carson Gatt. It's the Spartans third commitment from the '96 birth year. His older brother Nick was set to transfer to MSU from Alabama-Huntsville, but with the Chargers seemingly picking up a stay of execution, that may change, since the older Gatt would have to sit out a transfer year now.

Bowling Green got a commitment from Ryan Coulter of Culver Military Academy, which is actually in Indiana, despite sounding like a Wisconsinite's dream.

USHL goalie Matthias Dahlstrom committed to Northern Michigan, and Alberta overager Austin Sevalrud became just the third player to commit to Alaska-Anchorage for next season.
