North Dakota defenseman Chay Genoway is holding a press conference this afternoon to announce that he will return to North Dakota next season. Genoway was granted a fifth year of eligibility with a medical redshirt because he missed most of last season with concussion issues.
If Genoway was going to be able to play again, coming back to North Dakota was a no-brainer. As a 5'9" defenseman, his pro prospects were somewhat limited from the start, but adding on the risk of taking a guy that missed over six months with a concussion, and I can't imagine any team would be willing to take that chance.
It will be great to see Genoway back on the ice after dealing with such a difficult injury. Hopefully he can stay on the ice and not have to deal with any further head-related issues.
