Read Returning for Senior Season

Bemidji State forward Matt Read has announced that he'll return to BSU fro his senior season, after turning down numerous NHL offers.

That's absolutely huge for Bemidji State. Read isn't only their top player, but also one of the best players in the country, and should make a huge difference in Bemidji's first year in the WCHA.

It's also an interesting decision on Read's part, if he did indeed have the chance to play in the NHL right away. There is a bit of a risk involved with Bemidji moving to the WCHA, where he'll face much tougher competition on a more regular basis, but if he has another year similar to his prior three years, he could be a Tyler Bozak-level free agent, which likely means a little more money, and a little less time in the minors.
