Ohio State announced today that they will not renew the contract of head coach John Markell. Markell coached at Ohio State for 15 seasons, including leading the school to its first and only Frozen Four appearance in 1998. The Buckeyes have struggled in recent years, and there have been rumors of this happening for some time now. In fact, it was strongly rumored that this almost happened two years ago.
So now the Buckeyes join Western Michigan in the search for a new coach. You'd think a Big Ten school would be able to draw some pretty serious names for their coaching search, and there's a ton of viable candidates out there.
