The New SBNation.com

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that today, SBNation unveiled the brand new sbnation.com. This project has been in the works for a couple months now, and the final result looks pretty impressive. It's a great way for keeping up with all the major stories going on in the sporting world. My initial impression--and I'd assume most people's first impression--is that the page looks a little busy, but it's pretty easy to get used to.

It should also be a great place for the latest NHL news. I communicate fairly regularly with the new NHL editors and they're good people. It's nice to see they won't be half-assing the hockey coverage like a lot of other places nowadays.

As a bit of general housekeeping around here...

We'll be finishing up with the top recruits fairly soon. It's kind of getting down to 'pick a name out of a hat' territory. It'll probably end at #40 just to make it a nice round number.

I've also been working on conference previews that will go up first thing Monday morning. No full team write-ups, but a listing of where I think each team will finish in conference, and a brief write-up on why. Also, they'll be some preseason awards for each conference.

Then starting next Wednesday, I'll be back at the rink for the first time in months for the NAHL Showcase/NAHL Future Prospects tournament. This event seems to get bigger every year and should provide a lot of really good material.
