Minnesota sophomore forward/defenseman Drew Fisher will transfer to Bemidji State for his final two years of eligibility. Ideally, Fisher will get to play closer to his home of International Falls, and play in the WCHA for at least one of his final two years of school.
His departure represents a growing problem at Minnesota. The Gophers have had trouble finding and keeping depth players in their program, which has left them shorthanded at times over the past couple of seasons.
