Everyone seems to be up in arms today because two idiots from the Twin Cities' most embarrassing suburb proposed a bill that would ban foreign athletes from receiving state money for scholarships. The rule wouldn't affect the University of Minnesota, but would for St. Cloud, Minnesota State, and Bemidji State.
Yes, it's a stupid idea, and yes it would really hurt those schools. But the odds of something so obviously asinine passing have got to be like less than 1%. Meanwhile, the odds of an elementary school having to close in $4-million-over-budget Forest Lake school district is probably around 50%. It's nice to know that they're really tackling the issues that matter.
