It's probably not a good day to be Ian Boots.
Ohio State, who is on the NCAA tournament bubble, has a pretty key series against Notre Dame this weekend. Things will looking pretty good for the Buckeyes to pull out a big win on Friday night when they scored to take a 3-2 lead with just under three minutes left in the game.
But less than a minute later, Ohio State's Ian Boots took a spearing major giving Notre Dame a five-minute powerplay. Notre Dame's Erik Condra scored with 1.3 seconds left to send the game to overtime. Notre Dame then started overtime still on the powerplay thanks to Boots' major, and Notre Dame scored less than a minute into the overtime.
The loss bumped Ohio State down to 16th in the PWR, and on the outside of the NCAA tournament bubble. Notre Dame's website has highlight's from the game.
