Denver's Joe Mullen received a 5-minute major and game misconduct in the waning seconds of Denver's loss to Minnesota-Duluth on Saturday night for a slash on Duluth's Mike Connolly.
The officials from the game passed video of the incident along to the league higher-ups, and they made a recommendation on a sanction to Denver. Based on descriptions of the incident, I would guess Mullen is looking at a one or two game suspension. It's nice to see the league finally step in and reprimand a player for a dangerous and unnecessary attack on a vulnerable opponent.
