The NCAA has gone back and forth with the seating arrangement for the Frozen Four at Ford Field a couple times this past year, and it looks as though they've finally settled on putting the rink in the endzone. This set-up gives them a more manageable 36,000 capacity, while still hopefully setting an attendance record, and should make it a little easier for people to see the game.
If they had stuck with keeping the rink in the center of the field, similar to what they did for the basetball Final Four, I don't think the view would have been as bad as some people suggested, but I think attendance would have been a huge problem. A crowd of 30,000 would have looked like a failure in that seating arrangement, whereas 30,000 in this new seating configuration would look pretty good.
