Niagara and RoMo Get Their Safety Net

Niagara and Robert Morris look to have received approval to jon Atlantic Hockey in 2010-2011 with the disbanding of College Hockey America. It's not an ideal situation for Niagara, since they'll be restricted to 12 scholarships, but it's probably better than not being in a conference at all.

I've heard some people speculate that this could have an impact on Bemidji's application to the WCHA, but I don't think so. The CHA was already dying before this move, so it's been WCHA or bust for BSU all along. It's nice to at least two programs from that conference find a life raft.

The most important thing I've learned from all of this is that Canisius, a Jesuit college, has an athletic director named Bill Maher, which is kind of amusing.
