Other Departures

I've been a little slow on the trigger this past week. Two college players left school early and made their NHL debuts last night.

Michigan State's Justin Abdelkader gave up his senior year to join the Detroit Red Wings. He saw about 11 minutes of ice time last night, and should get more in the Wings last couple games since they clinched the President's Trophy last night and the Wings are struggling with injuries right now.

Wisconsin's Kyle Turris also signed with Phoenix less than 24 hours after Wisconsin's season was over. He played about 19 minutes for the Coyotes last night.
