The USHL put out an announcement today that league president Gino Gasparini will slowly yield power before retiring.
Gasparini's success in the USHL is undeniable. Both the size and the quality of the league have expanded during his tenure, which began in 1995. It is the premier supplier of talent to the NCAA, the only Tier I Junior A league in the United States, and some may argue, on par with the Canadian CHL leagues.
His presence will be missed in the USHL, but he has laid a very solid foundation for whoever takes his place, and his slow departure should make for an easy transition.
