What Happens in Iowa...

...doesn't always stay in Iowa.

Normally my colleague Damien Goddard handles this type of thing, but I don't think I can pass it up.

Two Nebraska-Omaha hockey players, Adam Bartholomay and Bobby Henderson were arrested for being drunk in a Council Bluffs, Iowa Casino. Being drunk in a casino isn't exactly a rare phenomenon, so what they did to end up in the back of a police car after the police were called was probably pretty spectacular.

From the details that are known, Henderson didn't do much to help his cause. According to the police report:
"When officers confronted Henderson, he told police, "I am a hockey player. I'll get out of this.""
He also told the officers that he was a criminal justice major, but shockingly, that didn't seem to get him anywhere.
"Inside the police car, Henderson began to head butt the cage and yell "I play for the Mavs. You can't (expletive) with me.""
You've got to love a guy that references his own team like that. Herb Brooks would be so proud.

Both players are suspended for the rest of the season. For Henderson, that will exhaust his eligiblity. Bartholomay will still have two years of eligibility left, but UNO coach Mike Kemp said he is unsure of what Bartholomay will do.
