Bruneteau to North Dakota

The Omaha World-Herald is reporting that Omaha native, and Omaha Lancer forward Brett Bruneteau has committed to North Dakota.

Bruneteau was rated as one of the top remaining forwards in the 2007 recruting class, and is a nice pick-up for the Sioux. Bruneteau also reportedly had scholarship offers from Colorado College, Denver, and Michigan.

You need to register to view the OWH story, but here's an excerpt:
Bruneteau, who turned down the likes of Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, Denver and the University of Nebraska at Omaha, is a senior at Millard North this year and may join the Fighting Sioux next fall. If he doesn't, the 5-foot-10, 180-pounder may spend another year in Omaha.

"It really comes down to how much I improve this year," he said.

Bruneteau cited UND's track record of players moving on to the NHL, and the number of Shattuck-St. Mary's alums, where Bruneteau played prep hockey, that are currently with the Sioux as reasons for choosing North Dakota.
