Saturday Night Recaps

The craziest score of the night has to be Lake Superior, after losing 1-0 last night, rebounding with a 7-6 overtime win over Ohio State. Jeff Jakaitis, who got the night off tonight, in favor of freshman Patrick Inglis, was probably wondering where all that offense was last night.

Wisconsin came back to earn a split with North Dakota, winning 1-0, despite not having the services of Jack Skille, Ross Carlson, and Kyle Klubertanz. Jake Dowell scored the only goal of the game 8 minutes into the third period. Brian Elliott made 27 saves in the win.

St. Cloud came back to salvage a split at home against Denver, winning 5-2. After outshooting the Pioneers last night and losing, St. Cloud was outshot by DU, but managed to win the game. Freshmen Ryan Lasch and Andreas Nodl each had a goal.

Minnesota State beat Notre Dame 3-2 with 14 seconds left in overtime. Minnesota State scored in overtime thanks to an absolutely brutal penalty call by referee Brad Albers. Notre Dame tied the game in the second period thanks to an absolutely brutal penalty call by referee Brad Albers(with an assist to an absolutely brutal penalty call by linesman Tony Lancette). I think you see the trend here. I hope Albers is a nice guy, because he sucks at his job. He'd be like the anti-Gregory House.

Michigan built a 6-0 lead on Connecticut before giving up 5 unanswered goals. Michigan added a late empty-netter to win 7-5.

Colorado College beat Merrimack 5-0. Addison DeBoer scored his first career goal.

Ferris State swept Mercyhurst this weekend, winning on Saturday by a score of 5-4.

Duluth smacked Lowell around tonight, winning 7-3.

Northern Michigan came back tonight to beat Michigan Tech 1-0, after a heartbreaking loss last night. Matt Siddall had the game's only goal.

Minnesota beat Wayne State 5-1. Jeff Frazee made 22 saves in the last of his guaranteed starts before Kellen Briggs comes back from suspension. The Gophers were playing a cupcake in WSU this weekend, but still, Frazee has played pretty well and should see some more icetime.
