The NTDP U18 team beat Alaska 5-3 in Anchorage tonight. Team USA got out to 5-0 lead and was able to hold on for the win. Alaska goalie Wylie Rogers got off to a slow start which put Alaska behind early. He was eventually pulled for back-up Chad Johnson.
Team USA was able to utilize one of their biggest advantages, which was that they had been playing for a couple weeks while this was Alaska's first game of the season. The Nanooks struggled with their special teams all night, while the U18's were a little better with their passing.
