Respected USCHO poster 'Puck Swami" has been playing around in the Time Magazine archives, and found some interesting articles about the University of Denver. Yes, Time actually wrote about college hockey at one point in history, though keep in mind that at that time, Tom Cruise was just being born, and his beard Katie Holmes wouldn't be born for another twenty, so there was less to write about.
Anyway, the one I found most interesting came from 1961, when Time wrote about Denver's recruitment of overage Canadians and the controversy it caused. The article briefly touches on the difference in philosophy between Denver coach Murray Armstrong and Minnesota coach John Mariucci.
It's an interesting read. Especially if you've ever been curious as to why the NCAA is so strict about not allowing anyone that played major junior to play in the NCAA.
