Kevin Lohan, a 6'5" defenseman originally from Long Island, and perhaps most notably, a first cousin to actress Lindsay Lohan, committed to Michigan, on Wednesday.
Lohan seems to be a bit of a late-bloomer, understandably for a player of his size, and has been well-traveled over the past three years of his hockey career. He played his final year of high school at Shattuck-St. Mary's for the school's Midget AAA program, which is one level below the team's top Prep squad, before moving back home to play for New York Apple Core of the EJHL. This year, he moved out to British Columbia where he has played for the Merritt Centennials and had a good enough year to put himself on the radar of the Wolverines.
As a '93 birthdate, Lohan still has the flexibility to play another year of junior hockey, meaning he will join the Wolverines either next season, or the season after that. Through 40 games this season, Lohan has registered 3 goals and 11 assists for Merritt.
