The United States Select U17 team, made up of top players born in 1997, completed the 5 Nations tournament in Slovakia with a perfect 4-0-0 record to earn a gold medal at the tournament.
The Americans clinched the gold medal with a dominating 9-2 win over Germany on Saturday. The lopsided score could have perhaps been even worse if the Americans didn't take their foot off the gas in a scoreless third period. Yale recruit Will D'Orsi was the player of the game for the US.
Having already clinched a tournament victory, the US completed a perfect tournament with a 3-1 win over Slovakia, despite a stellar effort by the Slovakian goalie, led by a pair of goals from Wisconsin recruit Brock Boeser. Goalie Kris Oldham was named player of the game for the United States.
