Our own Jeff Cox was on The Pipeline Show out of Edmonton yesterday. He talked Union-Maine, Hockey East and a certain Boston Terrier freshman with hosts Guy Flaming and Dean Millard.

The Mavericks are also making a change in goal with Cole Huggins getting the start tonight. Otherwise, the Mavericks are keeping the same line-up, other than Blake Thompson replacing Jaden Schmeisser on the blue line. Junior forward Brett Knowles is still out with an injury.

The big change for the Bulldogs is that it appears Kasimir Kaskisuo will make his second career start for the Bulldogs. Brett Boehm replaces Austyn Young on the fourth line, and Nick McCormack replaces Willie Raskob on defense.

Michigan 0-2 for first time since World War II

Friday's loss to New Hampshire dropped Michigan to 0-2 on the season. The last time that happened was in January of 1945 when they lost 12-6 to Detroit Vickers and then 10-0 to Minnesota.

Penn State's David Thompson taken to hospital for abdominal laceration

Nittany Lions sophomore D David Thompson was stretchered off the ice during overtime of Penn State's 3-3 tie with Alaska-Anchorage. Good to hear hear he's okay.

Stephon Williams Listed as Starting Goalie for Minnesota State on Friday

After replacing Cole Huggins midway through the first period last Saturday and earning the win, junior goalie Stephon Williams is listed as the starting goalie for Minnesota State in tonight's game against Minnesota Duluth. Williams was outstanding as a freshman for the Mavericks, but lost the starting job to Huggins last season after continued struggles.

Wittchow Likely In For Badgers This Weekend

Wisconsin junior defenseman Eddie Wittchow looks likely to play for Wisconsin this weekend against Northern Michigan after suffering what appeared to be a head injury last weekend in Alaska. It's important for the Badgers to get Wittchow back, because he would be the sixth healthy defenseman on the Badgers roster. Otherwise, it was likely freshman forward Cullen Hurley would have been pressed into service on defense.
