ECAC Hockey: Three Stars of the Weekend

Quinnipiac senior forward Jordan Samuels-Thomas - Justin K. Aller

The top three performers in the ECAC Hockey League for this past weekend.

#1 Star

Ryan Haggerty - The RPI junior forward now has seven tallies on the young season after punching in five goals over the weekend, including a hat trick in the team's 7-2 victory over Sacred Heart. He scored twice the night before, notching the game-winner and an insurance tally in a 3-1 road win at Boston University.

#2 Star

Jordan Samuels-Thomas - The senior forward from Quinnipiac had two goals and two assists in the Bobcats' weekend sweep over UMass-Lowell. The Winnipeg Jets draft pick had a hand in all three of his team's goals on Friday night as QU downed UML 3-1 on the road. The next night the West Hartford, Conn. native buried home a power play marker to extend the Bobcats lead to two.

#3 Star

Michael Pontarelli - The freshman forward is leading Union in goal scoring after his two-goal weekend. The Laval, Quebec native added an assist to increase his total on the year to four goals and three helpers. Only Northeastern's Michael Szmatula has more points of any freshman in the country.
