Niagara sophomore defenseman Vince Muto will miss six to eight weeks with an arm injury, according to a report by Michael Mroziak in the Niagara Gazette. The Niagara Falls, NY native was one of the top returning blue liners in Atlantic Hockey following his freshman season that saw him earn a spot on the Atlantic Hockey All-Rookie Team.
Muto, a big, mobile defender with an offensive mind, suffered the injury in the Purple Eagles' 10-2 loss against St. Lawrence. Niagara is off to an 0-2 start after losses to Clarkson and SLU. Dave Burkholder's team returns to action this weekend with a home-and-home conference series against defending AHA Tournament Champion Robert Morris.
