The Montreal Canadiens announced Wednesday evening that they have signed Michigan senior defenseman Mac Bennett to a two-year entry-level contract. Bennett was a third round selection of the Canadiens in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

The 6-0 189 lbs. defenseman was a captain for the Wolverines, and scored two goals and 12 assists while logging big minutes for the Wolverines this year.

Bennett ranked 43rd on our list of Top 100 NHL Prospects in the NCAA this past year. For more on Bennett, read our full scouting report on him here.
