USA Hockey cut their camp roster from 43 to 31 players this morning at the National Junior Evaluation Camp in Lake Placid. The US had previously played two sets of split squad games, and will now combine into one game for the remaining exhibition games at the camp.
Here's a break down of today's cuts:
Ohio State goalie Collin Olson was the only one of the three goalies cut. Jon Gillies(Providence), Anthony Stolarz, and Thatcher Demko(Boston College recruit) remain at the camp.
The US cut: Anthony DeAngelo, Gage Ausmus(North Dakota recruit), Dylan Blujus, Nick Ebert, Keaton Thompson(North Dakota recruit), and Tommy Vannelli(Minnesota recruit).
The defenseman still at camp include: Michael Brodzinski(Minnesota recruit), Will Butcher(Denver recruit), Connor Carrick, Connor Clifton(Quinnipiac recruit), Matt Grzelcyk(Boston University), Ian McCoshen(Boston College recruit), Brett Pesce(New Hampshire), Steven Santini(Boston College recruit), Pat Sieloff, and Brady Skjei(Minnesota)
The US cut: Justin Bailey, John Hayden(Yale recruit), Vince Hinostroza(Notre Dame recruit), Matt Lane(Boston University), Jimmy Lodge(injured), and Brady Vail
