The National Hockey League has had a myriad of events in New York City and New Jersey this week leading up to the NHL Draft on Sunday.

The top prospects have begun to descend on New York City and Newark for the 2013 National Hockey League Draft. The seven round NHL Draft will take place at the New Jersey Devils' Prudential Center in Newark on Sunday at 3 p.m.

The top four North American prospects, Seth Jones, Nathan MacKinnon, Jonathan Drouin and Darnell Nurse, attended the New York Yankees game Thursday afternoon before attending a media event at the top of the Empire State Building.

Boston College recruit Ryan Fitzgerald will be in New Jersey for the draft. The son of former NHLer Tom Fitzgerald is expected to go somewhere in the second or third round. The elder Fitzgerald is an assistant to Penguins General Manager Ray Shero.

Fitzgerald is just one of many college prospects expected to be in New Jersey for the NHL Draft.

Boston College defensive recruit Ian McCoshen, New Hampshire defenseman Brett Pesce, Cornell recruit Matt Buckles, New Hampshire recruit Jason Salvaggio and Minnesota recruit Tommy Vannelli are among the many other college players and recruited collegians expected to be present for the draft.
